Wonderfully Made

Sarah anxiously waits for the results of her pregnancy test. The two lines clearly pop up, indicating that her pregnancy test is positive. Fear and dread instantly hit the pit of her stomach knocking the wind out of her. She hardly knew the man that she slept with. She freaks out, knowing that her college softball scholarship is on the line and her goal of becoming a doctor before she was thirty was squandered.

Filled with uncertainty, she spends hours looking up abortion clinics. She feels it is her only choice. She calls one of her good friends who recently gave birth and recommends Sarah the Pregnancy Resource Center. Hesitant, Sarah calls pregnancy resource center and makes an appointment...

She walks into the lobby and feels a feeling she has not felt in a long time: comfort. The nurses who guide her through her appointment are genuine and compassionate. She then awaits to meet her client advocate. Anxiously awaiting her pregnancy test results, questions begin to fill her head. What will my parents think? Will I ever be successful in life for having a child so young? What decision do I make?

The Client Advocate walks into the room. Sarah ends up breaking down and sharing the heavy decision  she is attempting to make. She knows that abortion is wrong but felt like she had no other way out. Her client advocate shares with her different options about abortion, adoption and parenting. Then, being compelled by the Holy Spirit, Sarah's client advocate shares her story about going through the traumatic experience of having an abortion and how she has been forgiven and set free by Christ Jesus. She then starts sharing with Sarah about the Gospel of Jesus Christ and how she, and the miracle in her womb, are both fearfully and wonderfully made. Sarah breaks down even more and her client advocate consoles her and prays for her.

With a positive pregnancy test, she comes back to the PRC for an ultrasound appointment and she sees her baby for the first time. She instantly sees the baby's heart beating. She sees the arm buds and legs. The most prevalent sight is the beating of the heart and the moving of her baby. She leaves pregnancy resource center as a changed individual, impacted by the love of Christ and chooses life. One thing is for sure, she has a place in her community she can receive help. Most importantly, she knows she is fearfully and wonderfully made by Christ Jesus.

Stop and ponder for a moment. This is what goes on in our center on a daily basis.

OUR DECISIONS MAKE A LIFELONG IMPACT ON OTHERS.

There are many women who came to PRC, like Sarah, who were feeling hopelessness, unsure of what decision to make, uncertain and struggling with their own identity within this world. That is why the Lord lead us to name this year's Dessert and Coffee as "Wonderfully Made". The decisions that we make not only impact us individually, but also those around us and those we may have never met. Letting people know they are wonderfully created in God's image will have a profound affect. Not only will this impact our clients, but also the preborn children who come into our center.

With your support last year during our virtual fall fundraiser, we were able to help to achieve our goal of serving over 800 women within Carroll, Haralson and Heard counties. We were able to continue providing medical grade pregnancy testing, limited ultrasounds, and parenting classes. The post abortion healing classes also started back this year. Even during the midst of the pandemic, God's plan prevailed over our center and you were a part of making that possible. Sponsoring our event allows us to continue to minister and reach out to our community to let them know that they are too, wonderfully made.

Through this year's event, our goal is to serve over 2,068 families within our community by sharing with each of our clients that they are wonderfully made by Christ Jesus. Sponsoring our event allows PRC to continue to minister and reach out to our community. Will you join us in these efforts to let our community know they are wonderfully made by Christ Jesus?
